The 11th Annual “Up on the Roof: Taste from the Top” fundraiser sponsored by Harvey Gulf, helped bring in nearly $165,000 to benefit the EJGH Foundation, the fundraising arm of East Jefferson General Hospital. The 2017 steering committee efforts were led by event co-chairs Jennifer Bergeron and Dr. Rhett Sassard.

The hospital’s signature fundraising event played host to over 1,000 patrons atop the Esplanade Parking Garage and featured music by the Bucktown All-Stars with a special performance by the 610 Stompers as well as dozens of local, national and international beers. Food vendors from the city’s top restaurants, including Bayou Burger & Sport's Company, Curio Bistro, The Mason Jar, Boulevard American Bistro, and Rizzuto's Ristorante & Chop House were also in attendance serving up their most popular dishes. The IBERIABANK patron party kicked things off in an exclusive expanse where sponsors, physicians and community members enjoyed specialty cocktails, fine wines and food by Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts.

“This annual fundraiser provides an excellent opportunity for our community, physicians, team members, patients and friends to come together to support the hospital,” said EJGH Foundation Board Member and Philanthropy Chair Stacey Shane Schott. “I also want to thank all of our board members and volunteers who helped once again to make this an outstanding night.”

Event proceeds support The Foundation’s Inspire Grant Program, funding projects that directly impact patient care at EJGH. Since 2013, the program has given back nearly $1.6 million to help better serve the healthcare needs of this community, Up on the Roof playing a large role in that philanthropic effort.
