Girls Night Out: When Seconds Matter

Thursday, February 25, 2016|7pm • EJGH Conference Center

When it comes to a stroke or a catastrophic coronary event, every second truly matters in increasing your chance of survival and decreasing long-term health effects. That’s why you should always dial 911 instead of taking the chance and driving yourself or a loved one to the Emergency Room at the first sign of trouble.

Special Guests: Neurosurgeon Dr. Ricky Medel and Paramedic Team Lead Brittney Verdun. Come and enjoy wine tasting, hand massages and screenings for bone density, body mass index, blood pressure, sleep apnea and door prizes.

Call HealthFinder at 504-456-5000 to reserve your seat today.

FREE to Healthy Lifestyles Members, $10 for non-members.

Lympho-Maniac Cancer Fundraiser

The 11th Annual Lympho-Maniac Gala will be held on Saturday, March 5, at Lakefront Airport (6001 Stars and Stripes Boulevard) from 7 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Local cuisine will once again be donated by over 15 restaurants from around the New Orleans area. There will be an open bar from 7-9:30 p.m. and a cash bar available from 9:30 p.m. to midnight.

Since 2003, New Orleans Lymphomaniacs have donated over $750,000 to fight cancer. All proceeds from the 2016 Lymphomaniac Gala will be directed to grants for lower income families who have someone being treated for cancer by an East Jefferson General Hospital physician. Cancer causes a financial hardship for those families, and these grants will lessen the burden by assisting with medical bills, medical travel, house notes, grocery bills and more. The fundraising goal for this year’s event is $100,000.
