Inpatient Rehabilitation at East Jefferson General Hospital is a premier facility, like none other in this region. Part of what sets East Jefferson apart from other rehabilitation centers is the opportunity for our patients to recover through carefully supervised, real-world experiences. A patient re-acquiring motor skills, for example, does not have to just imagine getting back behind the wheel of a vehicle; we have a car here, just for them. In fact, EJGH provides our patients with an entire house setting, which includes a bed, bathroom, sofa and even a kitchenette. Here, patients have a safe and controlled environment that allows them to gain strength and become comfortable with activities they will be engaging in every day in their own lives.
AccreditationEast Jefferson General Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation is accredited by CARF, The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

The Care TeamOur inpatient rehab program takes an interdisciplinary approach to healing so that each patient can benefit from the expertise of many physicians and therapists with specialized training in a variety of fields. A patient's care team can consist of certified rehabilitation nurses, physical medicine and rehab physicians, social workers (case management) physical, occupational, and speech therapists, as well as dieticians, and nuerophyschologists as needed. Length of stay at our facility is determined on a case-by-case basis by the patient and their entire care team. The extent of the patient's impairments as well as the goals and objectives of the patient and their team are fundamental to our approach to treatment. |
