mpetersAs a friend to The Foundation at EJGH, I want to assure you that your past and future support is vital to the care we provide to our patients and our community. The current partnership initiative continues with West Jefferson Medical Center. This potential change and the current uncertainty can be uncomfortable for many of us.

Throughout our history, we have been a cornerstone of the community as Jefferson Parish continued to grow and prosper. Today, our Parish stands as Louisiana's most prosperous Parish and that simply could not have happened without EJGH being an outstanding hospital and community partner.

However, our hospital faces its greatest era of change in our history. Changes in healthcare and the marketplace make it impossible for a stand-alone hospital, restricted to a specific service area, to compete fairly in an open market. That is why East Jefferson General Hospital is in the process of selecting a partner. This partnership will give your community hospital greater economies of scale and allow us to continue to invest in quality patient care. Most importantly, we want to accomplish this while maintaining our name and our culture of service.

I want to assure you that your gifts to The Foundation will not be affected by any impending partnership. Any past or future support will continue to be used for the purpose you designate. The Foundation is a separate 501c3, non-profit organization from the hospital, with a separate governing board, investment portfolio and bank accounts. Therefore, your gifts will continue to be used to support the needs of East Jefferson General Hospital and the community we serve.

No matter the changes that may take place in the future, we are still treating patients – your colleagues, friends, neighbors, and loved ones – every day. The need for your support continues, and your gifts do make a difference.

Thank you for your continued support. We will continue to keep you informed as we move forward in the partnership process.
