The newly constructed serenity garden, located on the second floor patio of East Jefferson General Hospital’s main campus, is officially open to all EJGH Team Members and guests from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

The project was funded by the INSPIRE grant program, which distributes charitable contributions in support of the mission of the hospital. Through this program, all team members and physicians have the opportunity to inspire innovation and collaboration to enhance the extraordinary care delivered at EJGH.

The 10th annual “Up on the Roof” beer tasting sponsored by Harvey Gulf, helped bring in nearly $150,000 to benefit the EJGH Foundation, the fundraising arm of East Jefferson General Hospital. The 2016 steering committee efforts were led by event co-chairs and EJGH Foundation board members, Rhett Sassard, MD and Stacey Shane Schott.

The hospital’s signature fundraising event played host to over 1,000 patrons atop the Esplanade Parking Garage and featured music by Karma as well as dozens of local, national and international beers. Food vendors from the city’s top restaurants, including Acme Oyster House, Boulevard American Bistro and Ruth’s Chris, were also in attendance serving up their most popular dishes. The Iberia Bank patron party kicked things off in an exclusive expanse where sponsors, physicians and community leaders enjoyed specialty martinis and fine wines.

The Foundation at East Jefferson General Hospital is graciously donating $10,000 to aid flood victims in the Baton Rouge area, hoping to “pay it back and pay it forward” after all of the support EJGH received following Hurricane Katrina.

The Louisiana Hospital Association has established a fund to accept donations to assist hospital employees who were catastrophically affected by the recent flooding. EJGH will be accepting donations through the Foundation to go along with the $10,000 already being donated to help fellow hospital employees during their time of need.

EJGH Breast Care Center Opening

The Foundation at East Jefferson General Hospital helped celebrate the opening of the newly renovated and expanded state-of-the-art Breast Care Center, an important benchmark in addressing a growing need in the community it serves.

The Foundation, the fundraising arm of the hospital, raised more than $300,000 for the project, receiving support from its Live Pink breast care funding program, incorporating community events, individual and corporate donations and employee giving campaigns.

East Jefferson General Hospital celebrated its 45th anniversary of serving the community with its Sapphire Gala on Saturday, June 11, honoring all of those past and present who have been an intricate part of the hospital's success.

All funds raised from the event, held at the National WWII Museum, went towards The Foundation, the fundraising arm of EJGH, helping make a difference in the lives of EJGH patients and the community it serves.

The gala helped garner nearly $100,000 thanks in large part to the 450-plus patrons in attendance as well as the 2.19 carat sapphire raffle, donated by Aucoin Hart Jewelers.
