What Your Gift Supports

Funds generated through The Foundation are used exclusively for expansion of our wellness plans, capital-equipment projects and the development of new services and programs to better serve the changing healthcare needs of a growing community.  None of the funds generated by The Foundation are used for operating expenses of the hospital.

Announcing the New Ambulance
East Jefferson General Hospital CEO/President, Dr. Mark Peters recently awarded the keys to a new state-of-the-art ambulance to Mike Guillot, Director of EJGH EMS. The ambulance was purchased and donated by the Foundation.

Rich Mauti Cancer Fund
Former New Orleans Saints player Rich Mauti is dedicated to the prevention and early detection of cancer. The Rich Mauti Cancer Fund supports screenings and educational programs in the community.

Orthopedic Total Joint Program
This program is designed to provide patients preparing for joint replacement surgery with the resources and education needed to ensure a successful surgery and post-op recovery. The Foundation has provided the printed materials and instructional DVDs.

Refurbished CEED Van
The CEED van, a mobile unit used to go out in the community to perform screenings and other health and education programs, is getting a face lift, tune up and new decals. Be on the lookout for the fully refurbished CEED van at a community event near you!

Nursing Conferences
The Foundation has continued its partnership with the nursing staff of EJGH by sending nurses to conferences for continuing education. This learned knowledge helps nurses stay abreast of the latest technology and is a way to help ensure patient safety.

Diagnostic and Radiation Therapy
Cancer Treatment Equipment The Foundation is assisting in the fight against cancer by purchasing a new ultrasound that will work with the new, state of the art Trilogy treatment machine. The Foundation has also supported the hospital s purchase of the Trilogy by purchasing the needed calibration system.

Teaching Tool
The Foundation is purchasing a cutting-edge teaching mannequin that will assist with cross training nurses from outside the United States. It will also be used to assist current nurses on staff as they maintain their skills
