Therapeutic Yoga

Therapeutic Yoga serves participants who are not able to get down or up on a floor mat easily. It is especially appropriate for cancer survivors - including those who are still in chemotherapy and radiation treatment, with a doctor's approval - recovery after illness and injury, back care, knee and hip replacement, chronic pain, fluid retention issues, and general movement limitations.

Therapeutic Yoga is often the next step after physical therapy. Based on physical limitations/restrictions, members are taught simple modifications to yoga poses to promote comfort and relaxation during a beginning yoga practice.

Class is taught by a certified instructor in: Yoga for Cancer, Taoist Yoga Qi Gong, Tai Chi Chuan, Advanced Meditation, and a Kriya Yoga Initiate. Classes take place every Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Wellness Center and is free to members. Drop-ins are welcome, or participants can register by clicking here.
