Hospital Operations

  • Inpatient patient care is fully operational.
  • Emergency Department is fully operational.
  • Dialysis is operational for inpatient only.
  • All clinic locations are open, except for EJ Urgent Care & Primary Care – Kenner (708 W. Esplanade)
  • Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Yenni Building Infusion Center, Outpatient Radiology done at the hospital, Skilled Nursing Facility, Geriatric Behavioral Unit, and Cath Lab are all operational.
  • Walgreen’s pharmacy in the hospital is open.
  • EJPG Clinics will have telemedicine and clinic services on an as-needed basis. Patients can call 504.503.7000 8 am-4 pm to access these services. Call if you need to schedule, reschedule, or cancel an appointment or if you have questions about your prescriptions.
  • The Wellness Center is currently closed and will reopen on Monday, September 20.
  • COVID-19 Drive-thru testing is now closed.
  • Imaging:
    • Outpatient Radiology services are open. Same-day appointments are available:
      • MRI, CT, X-ray, Mammography
      • Interventional radiology procedures
    • Clearview Imaging is now open
      • MRI, CT, x-ray, and Ultrasound
    • Lakeview Imaging is open
      • X-ray

(We can obtain previous medical images from any facility electronically, even those done elsewhere.) 

Vaccine Clinic

Great news! You can make an appointment at our Vaccine Clinic Tuesday-Friday from 8:30 am-3 pm to get your free COVID-19 vaccine!
Our Vaccine Clinic is located at 4315 Houma Blvd. on the 2nd Floor. To make an appointment, call 504.503.7000.
If you are looking to schedule your vaccine on a different day or at a different location, please call 504.290.5200.

Prescription Drug Refills:

  • Patients that have evacuated and have not returned to the area needing urgent non-narcotic prescription refills can go to their nearest chain pharmacy (Walgreen’s, CVS, etc) and ask for an emergency refill for the next 30 days.
  • For narcotic refills, patients may need to go to an urgent care or emergency department in order to obtain a refill for their narcotic prescription.
  • In the case of an emergency, patients should go to their nearest Emergency Department.

Emergency Preparedness

East Jefferson General Hospital has plans in place to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

When a tropical storm or hurricane threatens New Orleans, East Jefferson General Hospital will activate its emergency plan to provide patients, their family members, and staff with up-to-date information regarding our preparations, announcements about closing and reopening the facilities, and other relevant instructions. In addition, www.ejgh.org will be updated with vital information. See below for important information and updates from our hospitals.
