Danny Burke, a Certified Hanna Somatic Educator, completed a three-year training program at the Novato Institute of Somatic Research and Training in California. Hanna Somatics is a method of pain relief that uses slow, conscious movements to help regain awareness, sensation and motor control of muscles. Danny joined the EJGH team at the Wellness Center in 2012, and in 2013, he began offering “hands on” individual sessions. Danny works with people suffering from pain in all areas of the body, including back, hip, leg, headache, sciatic nerve pain, TMJ, neck and shoulders. Many people are surprised at how quickly this can improve posture, make walking easier and eliminate pain. After four sessions, most people have significant improvement and can take care of their own aches and pains with the homework moves. The group classes help reinforce the homework. Danny can also help athletes improve sports performance, people who have suffered traumatic injury, and those with chronic diseases that can cause pain such as fibromyalgia and arthritis.
His passion for his work is what makes Danny a valuable member of our team. “I enjoy teaching people to regain the freedom of movement and to eliminate the pain from their bodies in ways that are healthy and useful for the rest of their lives.”
