Many older adults don’t protect their skin from the sun when outside for an hour or more on a warm sunny day. This may raise the risk of older adults getting skin cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, skin cancer is by far the most common cancer in the United States, with millions of cases diagnosed each year. It’s also the most preventable cancers and highly treatable when found early.
