East Jefferson General Hospital (EJGH) is committed to providing financial assistance to individuals who have emergency and essential or non-elective health care needs and are uninsured, underinsured, ineligible for a government program, or otherwise are unable to pay, for medically necessary care based on their individual financial circumstance.

Consistent with our commitment to provide exceptional quality, safety and service in the community we serve, EJGH strives to ensure that the financial capacity of individuals who need health care services does not deter them from seeking or receiving care. To treat all individuals who come to seek treatment, equitably, with dignity, respect and compassion. Financial assistance is available to all patients who qualify.

Insurance

EJGH will submit bills to Medicaid, Medicare or private insurance companies. However, facility-based physicians providing healthcare services at EJGH may not be contracted providers with your insurer. Please contact your insurance carrier to confirm before you schedule a medical procedure.

Cost of Care

East Jefferson General Hospital is committed to helping patients understand and prepare for the cost of their care. East Jefferson General Hospital provides a list of charges for services provided at our facilities; however, a patient’s out-of-pocket responsibility for these charges will vary, depending on their insurance coverage and benefit plan. We understand that it is confusing for a patient to navigate through the many factors involved in their final cost. Furthermore, the actual amount paid by a patient will depend on that patient’s insurance coverage, as benefit plans vary greatly.
